I have a client who is pregnant with her second child and is having some
very deep concerns about nursing her next baby. She only lasted 2 weeks
with her first child because of nausea, and negative feelings whenever
she nursed. It sounds to me like a response to the let down reflex.
She said it was very disturbing and she starts crying just thinking
about nursing again. I know I've read about reactions like this with
let down but I can't seem to find it on the lactnet search. Have some
of you heard of this and do you have any suggestions. She said that
pumping didn't seem to be such a problem. She thinks that she might try
distractions during feedings... I suggested heat or a nipple shield
possibly.
