hi tammie
you covered the overactive letdown/oversupply management very well. one
thing i would consider is this: in my experience it is unusual to see this
present itself so early (5 day old). not to say it is impossible, but it
would not be the first thing i thought of. did this behavior in the baby
present at day 5 or from the first day(s) of bf.? the baby could have a
swallowing or resp. problem. it concerns me that the baby is choking and the
baby acts hungry. she's gassy but is she stooling? so i think a bit more
detective work is in order here: a more detailed history, weight loss/gain,
jaundice, voids and stools etc. and paramount is to observe the baby doing a
feeding. keep us posted.
