A client I am seeing has Raynaud's. She is trying all the helpful things
suggested recently on Lactnet with some effect. She asked me about vitamin
B6. I have advised against her taking vitamin B6 as suggested in Jack
Newman's handout. He suggests 150-200mg/day once a day for 4 days and then
25mg once a day until she is pain free. When I looked vitamin B6 up in Hale
he says the vitamin should be given in modest amounts(< 25mgs/day) and in
high doses the drug becomes category L4 (possibly hazardous). The vitamin is
associated with reduced milk production.

In view of this drug information, and that there is no research to show it
works, should vitamin B6 be recommended as a supplement for a woman
suffering with Raynauds?

Thanks for your insights
