I think that Kirsty Marshall has had a great beginning to her political career. She is getting her voice heard and has brought to light the common situation where breastfeeding women are encouraged to hide away which is clearly the case here. The MP was told that there was a special room where she could breastfeed. Sydneys largest paper has a big colour photo of her breastfeeding her little one in parliament yesterday, no attempt to cover up, ample breast showing. Kisty will be working to get the situation changed. The editorial in the paper puts it all in perspective "Yesterday Victorian MP and former Olympic skier Kirsty Marshall was tossed out of parliament for the sin of breastfeeding her 10 day old baby in the parliamentary chamber. What a distastefully, stupid and offensive act." Distasteful, stupid and offensive indeed. That's why we don't get more support for breastfeeding.
