Hi. I am looking for opinions about computer charting for lactation consultants. The nurses document all of their info on the computer and that is later printed off and put on the patient chart. Do any hospital based LC's out there who use computer charting have any suggestions about the most efficient way to document on mothers in the hospital. Do you even use the computer or do you go directly to the chart or both. This is a new thing (having an LC) at our hospital so I am trying to get some opinions before I set things up. It will be hard to change once we get used to a certain method. If it helps this is a small hospital with about 40 breastfeeding mothers per month. The LC position is part time. If you need me to clarify anything please email me. Since this is not really a breastfeeding question feel free to email me privately if you wish at [log in to unmask] Thank you so much for your time.
