Today's local (Bakersfield, CA) carried a story about the precautions which will need to be taken by those who receive the first round of vaccines. Those precautions involve healthcare workers wearing a special type of bandage which has a stronger barrier over the injection site and all others who receive the vaccine wearing a gauze bandage over the site, both for at least three weeks after being immunized. It would seem that the same precautions could be applied to bf moms. This will potentially affect me as my husband is a law enforcement officer and is thus in the first tier scheduled to be vaccinated and I am nursing my 13-month old. It is a very frightening prospect, but this is our world and we have to do what we have to do.
