However, I would caution that this approach is workable and conducive when both parties involved, the doc and the breastfeeding mother, are capable of this type of strength. As was the case in this situation. An already-petrified parent and/or an arrogant, self-righteous physician are not candidates for mutual educational enrichment. The parent needs an immediate, qualified second opinion and the insulting physician rarely remembers or cares. I assure you, no hostility is involved.
