Hello everyone. I've read with interest about Kate's experience on the Dr Phil Show, which I did not see because I was too busy attending a one-day conference where Nancy Wight was speaking (Yay!) here in Charleston. And I was glad that Sara Furr wrote in of her positive experience with the local cable channel breastfeeding special. Some of you may remember the piece that was done locally with my LLL Group about "Extended Breastfeeding" back in April on WSAZ. Someone (maybe Jodine?) had posted a link to the story on Lactnet, and the reporter told me she had received MANY wonderful comments. Perhaps the difference is that these were locally produced, small town markets? But, just to let you all know, the reporter who did our story contacted me recently, and wanted to let me know that she is still nursing at 10 months old, and that her baby has never had any liquid except her milk. She told a few funny stories about pumping in the back seat of the car while the cameraman drove to the next hot story, but I won't repeat them here. Maybe she'll share them in some other way. I thank you all for being so kind to her. I think it will bear long-time fruit for Breastfeeding + the Media here in my little corner of the world.
