The book, "We Are All Water Babies" by Michel Odent is my favorite. It is absolutely beautiful--the photos will amaze you. The link for it on Amazon is below. I think the obvious answer is if you have a less traumatic birth, you have a much easier time breastfeeding. Water borne babies are much less likely to have suffered the assualts of medicalized birth. BTW, my 10yr dd was born in water in a cattle trough in our living room. I perferred it to the birthing tub (used for my third birth), b/c the walls of the tub were not rigid enough.
