If it is something in the traditional diet, wouldn't Chinese women have identified it long ago? Maybe suggesting that the mother nurse on one side at each feeding, doing breast compression, and keeping the baby actively sucking and swallowing may help. Also help the mother keep a record of feeding times, length onf feedings, etc. The baby may not be nursing long enough.
