Strikes me that this would be a pretty simple project and cheap to do. The
sort of thing that an honours student in microbiology could easily make a
very nice thesis out of and even get a paper or two. Cathy Fetherston? Any
microbiologists interested in breastfeeding at UWA?
What about the microbiologist at Latrobe that has the info on the
ant-infective properties of breastmilk on his website? Wouldn't it be worth
putting together the questions that LCs want answers to and emailing to a
few different people who might have the ability to make this research
happen?
Just some thoughts. There are so many questions we have with regards
lactation. Some of them you know are very difficult to answer but when it's
something that appears this simple it seems a shame not to do something
about it.
