What is more interesting to me than the campaign (which is old news, by the
way, just being re-spun) is that it follows the research and reporting of the
dangers of cribs and bacteria growing and causing death. Remembering that
they mentioned babies spit up and bacteria grows, etc. and left out the
information that this was formula fed babies and not breastfed
babies....whenever breastfed "norm" is not used in the research, the research
in my opinion is not valid for "all babies" but may very well be valid for
babies in "altered state from norm". Even McKenna's research is based on
breastfeeding moms co-sleeping. Remembering his video of mom caring for her
baby even in her sleep state....a reminder for me that breastfeeding connects
us to our infant on deep sub-conscious level not necessarily replicated in
artificial feeding circumstances. So, perhaps the data should conclude...if
you are not breastfeeding you may be a greater risk for rolling over on your
baby, if you leave your baby unattended in any sleep environement there are
risks, etc. I wish research took into account normal biology vs. altered
biology when studies were being done on babies. Oh well.......that would be
another rant.
