Hi Barbara, According to my 1999 Medications and Mothers' Milk (thanks, Gail!), Sotalol is approved by the AAP for use in breastfeeding. "Pediatric Concerns: None reported via milk but observe for sedation, bradycardia, hypotension, weakness." You should be able to find information at the AAP's website in _Transfer of drugs and other chemicals into human milk_: http://www.aap.org/policy/0063.html Another factor to consider is that that child *is* 2.5 years old, with greater mass and less nursing than a newborn. regards, Beth PP Doula, Childbirth & Breastfeeding Educator -- /\/\ Beth Johnson / o o\ Cosmic Wonderer ( / ^^\) Springfield, MA USA \ M_M/ "Ruling a country is like cooking a small fish-- you have to handle it with care."--Lao Tzu *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
