Today a 24-hr postpartum patient told me that she had been treated with Parlodel (bromocriptine) up until 1 week ago for prolactinoma. Today we could not express a drop of colostrum. In addition, her baby could not latch onto her flat and retracting nipples. I initiated a pumping regimen of 15 mins q 3 hrs and recommended she follow up with an IBCLC after discharge. Meanwhile, she's feeding formula. Anyone know if she is likely to have delayed or inadequate milk production due to the Parlodel and/or the prolactinoma? -Barbara Crotty, RN, ICCE, IBCLC *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
