Hale states "it is well known that oral magnesium absorption is very poor, average 4 - 30%". In the study sited indicates taht in treated groups, infants would only receive about 1.5mg of oral magnesium more that untreated groups. It is very unlikely that the amount of magnesium in breastmilk would be clinically relevant.
