There's been lots of publicity and discussion about the addition of AA
and DHA (I think yhose are the right letters) to forrmula. I haven't
taken the time to read the various articles about it, especially since
they were published or at least funded by the manufacturers. However, I
recently saw an item on the TV news about the "new" formula and one fact
really jumped out at me. It seems (at least in the study cited in the
segment) that when babies were either breastfed or fed the "improved"
formula and both groups showed similar IQs and visual acuity, this was
done AFTER 6 weeks of exclusive breastfeeding in both groups! Now why
am I not surprised this was never mentioned by the formula salesman
trying to get us to endorse his "better" formula for those babies who
wouldn't be getting breastmilk?
