Good evening, this is my first post to Lactnet so I shortly introduce myself: my name is Denise Both and I am a LLL-leader and IBCLC in Germany. Lavinia Belli asked about the use of bromocriptine in other European countries. Unfortunately bromocriptine is not banned in Germany. It is used frequently in our country to suppress lacation after birth or to stop breastfeeding at any age of the child and even to treat mastitis. Most women don't even know about the possible side effects or don't take them serious. Other prolactin inhibitors that are used in Germany are cabergolin and metergolin.
