Dr. Fredholm might want to contact Dr. Hale.  I know that he and Dr.
Hartmann just concluded some research into the use of metaformin (milk
samples, etc) and though the work isn't published yet, Dr. Hale may be able
to reassure you about that drug.  I don't know much about the specific
dosages of progesterone for tx in PCOS, but with a 14 mo. old the dose may
not be terribly significant this far from partuition.  Progesterone at this
point may not have much affect on lactation if it mimics (as I would assume)
the normal values required to initiate menses.  Many women menstruate and
lactate simultaneously.
