Sorry about the double post. I realized right after I hit send that I forgot to put in the correct subject line. > From: Jim & Winnie Mading <[log in to unmask]> > Subject: fenugreek and mother's meds > > I have searched the archives and found this same question asked twice, > but did not find if it was ever answered. Is there any concern with > fenugreek (or other herbal galactogogues for that metter) when mom is > also taking other meds-in this case specifically meds for blood > pressure? Does anyone know of any good references which talk without > prejudice about herbals and pharmaceutical meds-either enhancing the > effect or having undesirable interactions? According to my references, the only drugs that may possibly pose a contraindication are drugs used to treat glucose imbalances (hypoglycemia, diabetes), due to fenugreek's possible hypoglycemic effects. A couple good drug/herb interaction references are: Drug-Herb-Vitamin Interactions Bible, by Harkness & Bratman (Prima Health) A-Z Guide to Drug-Herb-Vitamin Interactions, by Lininger (also Prima Health) Herb Contraindications and Drug Interactions, by Brinker (Eclectic Medical Publications) Kerry, Minneapolis *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
