I saw a Pigeon nurser at the The 2002 ILCA pre-conference on babies with cranio-facial anamolies (including cleft palate).  Yes -- you are spelling it right.  The company that makes them is in Japan; I was told "Pigeon" is a well-known name for baby products there.  It is a very clever bottle:  the nipple has a Y-cut, with a firm top and a softer bottom.  This makes for easier tongue compression. A ring can be adjusted to change the flow rate. 

The conference materials show that the Pigeon Cleft Palate Nurser may be purchased from Children's Medical Ventures; 1-800-377-3449.  You can also pull them up at www.childmed.com.  You could certainly call them and ask if a sample is available for your evaluation.  I used Google to find this information .... they also brought me to a seller at 1-888-766-8443 who has Pigeons for $7.50.

I have no financial interest in these two companies ... but I knew I would not be able to sit still at ILCA until I learned why they were called "Pigeons."
