Hello Magda
As far as I know the Daktarin gel was origially meant for oral use in the
infant, but was found suitable for the mothers nipples. Doesn't then matter
too much if the baby ingests it. The creme as I am informed is not meant
for internal use, so therefore should be wiped off prior to feeding. I have
had the experience that when the creme dries it sometimes leaves a whitish
layer on the skin, making it difficult to see what is actually happening on
the nipple regarding healing etc. I think it is important that the mother
does not use loads of the gel, it should not smear everywhere. As far as I
am informed, and the literature recommends, use should be a little after
each breastfeed. Candida Albicans multiplies every 90 mins.
