Thought I add my two cents. A neighbor across the street, originally
from Germany, had a boy 5 my daughter played with.

Her baby girl who was less than year was nursing. They all came over
and mom began to get edgy as baby was fussing and needed feeding. I
said "You can nurse her here." She pulled out a shield and put it on.
I was shocked. I had never seen one used.

So I stood up and looked over them both and said "you don't need that
any more." So with a quizzical expression she took it off her nipple.
I guided the baby girl's head toward her and she took to the real nipple
with gusto. The mom was in shock as I said "That's what it's really
supposed to feel like." Well, we never became friends after that.
