Chris Tharion asks if anyone has experienced anything like the case she
describes. Lots and lots of women have.
Without knowing what the blood values referred to, and just going by the
clinical description, it sounds like a threatened spontaneous abortion, a
common occurrence regardless of whether the woman is currently breastfeeding
another child. By the time you read this, it should be clearer what is
happening. It could also be non-significant first trimester bleeding, also
unrelated to BF.

To put it another way, if this pregnancy wasn't destined to continue, and
some aren't, then BF makes no difference one way or the other. Don't let
anyone tell this woman otherwise. If breastfeeding were that effective as
an abortifacient, we would have known about it long ago.
