What is the problem? The ob. gave an opinion without trying to change the mother's plans for further investigation. There is a good chance the ob. is right, but she is allowing for the equally good chance she is not, and possibly trying to reassure the mother while she waits for other tests. The mother is going ahead with these, and may have to buy some doughnuts for her doc, or may not. If it is a prolactinoma, it still isn't a problem unless the mother is starting to have visual disturbances or pain or the like. And by then even the ob will be concerned! Prolactinomas are generally benign but need intervention when their location and size cause unacceptable symptoms. If it is another kind of tumor, the MRI should pick it up. just my 30 ml.
