>PRONE POSITION IMPROVES OXYGENATION IN CHILDREN WITH ACUTE >RESPIRATORY FAILURE Of course this is not bfing related, but I have to say that if I had not put my second son prone he would have died. Not from res. failure, but his adenoids were so enlarged that he could not breathe when placed on his back. The ENT told me that I was his best example for a mom following her heart and in turn saving her child. When his adenoids were removed at 4 months of age they were the biggest the ENT had ever seen, not just in a child, in general. My son's voice changed, I remember sitting in the recovery room waiting for them to bring him in and commenting on that poor baby that was crying, the doctor then told me it was MY baby, I about fell over. It is a complete miracle that he ate so well at the breast, probably because we laid down to nurse most of the time. He couldn't breathe with a bottle in his mouth, or a pacifier. So with baby #3, I figured I got through one child without a dummy, I could go for it again! The sad and irritating thing about this is that I told my pedi for 4 months there was something wrong with my son and he waved me off until I demanded a referral. He promptly apologized(after hearing diag,) and with baby #3 listens much more than he did before. Melisa ~*~*~*~*~ Did you hear?
