I must share this with you all- I don't remember who it was that posted the
great idea about serving homemade cookies to students in breastfeeding
classes, but thanks!
The other day I brought two boxes of cookies with me- one with my homemade
version of Mrs. Field's cookies- made with whole wheat flour, lots of nuts,
chocolate chips, raisins- just exploding with good stuff- and a box of
store bought petit beurre crackers. I offered it to the students at their
snack break, just as I arrived. Needless to say, the box of homemade was
emptied within several minutes, while the store-bought remained untouched.
As I began the lecture, I held the two boxes for them to see, and said, "I
see that the homemade cookies were very successful!" At this point several
asked for the recipe. I continued by saying,"This is the difference between
mother's milk and store bought- you chose the homemade, filled with
delicious and healthy ingredients. Nobody touched the store-bought"
To which one of the students added," And we have the option of choosing- a
baby doesn't!" The message was clear and I thank the original poster!
