I am interested in the incidence of failed or poor milk supply in BF women who have received Depo-Provera injection after 48 hours from giving birth. I will be sharing this information with a HCP who orders it given to women in the hospital prior to discharge but after 48 hours. She is unaware of any one having difficulties establishing a supply if they wait 48 hours before receiving the injection. You and I have worked with women whose supplies have been compromized after receiving Depo regardless of the length of time from delivery... 48 hours, 6 weeks, 4 months etc. Would you send me privately your "anecdotal" information so I can add it to my "anecdotal" information? With numbers perhaps she will change her orders and begin prescribing some other form of birth control for her breastfeeding patients. Thank you for your help.
