Hi all--

Listed below are two new journal studies that I received on MedScape
today....this is a great FREE service that sends you listings and links to
online journal articles. I signed up specifically for Women's Health issues,
but you can obtain other listings if you like. Just look for medscape.com and
sign up.

The one article supports what we all know about another advantage of
breastfeeding. The second one concerns me, as it supports the use of IV
fluids during labor, which many of us have anecdotally seen as potentially
causing some problems with extra fluid in the breasts in the immediate post
partum phase. The article has a critique attached that places some caveats on
it, but you know that many will just take the research at face value, so we
must be aware of the consequences that it brings.
