Marcia McCoy asked whether anyone has heard of a scenario whereby a female child is sensitized to cow's milk protein and later transmits these proteins to her own children in her breast milk. I have heard that women whose breast milk contains detectible cow's milk protein are different from women whose milk does not. Their blood vessels are permeable to cow's milk protein, possibly from early sensitization. I haven't seen any published literature on the topic, only heard it in a talk about 6 years ago. It fits well with other facts on mucous membrane immunity. just my 5 ml worth Rachel Myr Kristiansand, Norway *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
