I have been given a "Project" at my work (a retail type store for breastfeeding families) to list and explain the initials after a persons name that might give out breastfeeding info and the most common amount of training associated with the level one with those initials may have. I usually tell folks that I am a Breastfeeding counselor. I took a 40-50 hour course and was certified, but if I never look at another shred of BF info again I won't lose my certification. But that an IBCLC has to prove so many hours with moms every five yrs(?) and has to retest every 10 years. These both have to happen of they lose their certification, I know: RN-Registered Nurse not necessarily w/ or w/o a bachelors degree, is this a state test? You can respond privately as well as the list: [log in to unmask] TIA Mary Tripp Mom2Peanut *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
