My BF mothers' group continues to be a gold mine. We were out for our annual pre-Christmas restaurant dinner/meeting this p.m. and I gleaned these THREE stories. Since there were only five of us present and one is me, mother of totally weaned teenagers, I think that alone is impressive. 1) Child is two and a half. When milk stops flowing abundantly and mother feels it might be convenient to end the meal, she says 'There's no more left now.' He replies 'Oh yes there is' and demonstrates breast compression like a pro, causing milk to squirt out most gratifyingly. 2) Child is three and a half, nurses daily when he has time. When he suddenly remembers something more urgent while BF, he lets go of the breast and says 'I'll just save the rest for later.' 3) Child will be four in March. When he and mother get into real clinches, he pulls out his ace in the hole: 'OK, be that way, then I'll just quit breastfeeding!' (when mother is pressing him about some other behavior or setting limits on something-- this being the worst punishment he can imagine to inflict on her!) cheers Rachel Myr Kristiansand, Norway *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
