Hi, Ladies ~ I have an online friend with inverted nipples. She's obviously been preparing herself well -- she's enganged to be married next year and is anxious to start her family and breastfeed her babies. She was wondering about "treating" the inverted nipples now. I know some recommend the nipple shells during a pregnancy, but is it too far in advance for my friend to start? An archive search revealed a reference to using something called a "nipplette" pre-pregnancy. Is this something that is recommended/necessary? This probably makes this woman sound over anxious, but knowing her, she is truly trying to prepare herself to do what is best for her future husband and family with careful forethought and planning! Also, she lives in Tokyo. As she is not local to me (and I am not much qualified yet) I cannot really evaluate or assist her directly and she would like to consult with someone "in the know". If anyone on the list knows of an English speaking IBCLC in Tokyo she'd appreciate it. Please email me privately with answers as my computer is having problems overheating and I don't have time to skim all the digests right now.
