You can advise her to ask "why no pumping or breastfeeding on the affected side until the ductogram is done". Any answer that sounds like "well that's what we always advise" should be disregarded. If pumping or breastfeeding affects the test somehow (why would it?), they should do that test immediately and not wait until after the birth of the baby. This could be "rusty pipe syndrome" whatever that is and it disappears within a few days after birth and nursing. If I were the mother, I would start nursing and continue nursing and if within the first week, the blood doesn't disappear, then I would have the test done. Waiting 5 weeks instead of 4 weeks surely won't affect outcome.
