Greetings again everyone. I'm adding my bit again. I'd say babies get milk from the breast at the same time as a SNS line, judging by their gulping if they get a 'let down' while feeding with the line. So.. I suggest BF first unless I'm working with a lethargic baby or one that tires very quickly. Lowering the milk container to well below the baby's mouth [on the seat or even the floor] will require the baby to maintain suction to overcome gravity which depends on good nutritive sucks. Of course a weak baby will not cope with it too low, hence the need to tailor prescription to need. cheers from Tassie Aust Barb Ritson LC [log in to unmask] *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
