First of all, 1/2 oz per day is a perfectly acceptable rate of weight
gain per Ruth Lawrence's textbook!!! You pose a very good question:
does switch nursing increase fat intake for baby: I have often wondered
about that myself. I would recommend nursing a long time on the first
side...."finish first side first", and using breast compression toward
the end of the feeding, then feel free to switch side to side after that.
If the mom is pumping at all, she could try letting some milk cool,
skim off the fat that rises to the top and use that for a supplement.
AAARRGGGHHHH Why is formula given for the answer!!!???
