Christine - True lactose intolerance in a baby is extremely rare - if you think about it, it's counter to survival that a baby could be "intolerant" of the one & only food perfectly designed to nourish him, right? But the baby could very well be affected by lactose (or the milk protein, more likely) in the *mother's* diet - so she's the one that should try the Lact-Aid. Or better still, a dairy elimination diet. That way she can determine how much dairy she is able to take in without affecting the baby (if any - this varies a lot), without messing the baby around. And I do think I've heard of people using Lact-Aid w/br. milk, but I don't remember any more about it, because it's my understanding that with a young baby it's very unlikely that it's the lactose in breast milk that's causing the problem. It's more likely to be the protein, so the Lact-Aid won't help.
