Whether or not formulas decrease the bilirubin more quickly or not, the baby

is being treated, and it seems unnecessary for him to get formula, just to
bring the bilirubin down a little more quickly. The giving of formula when
other treatment modes are available teaches the mother that formula is good
and its medicine too, it implicitly knocks down breastmilk as dangerous, and
its not surprising that lots of mothers quit breastfeeding under such
circumstances (my milk is dangerous for my baby).
