In reference to the Physician's assistant who has a mother whose child is
having severe gastric difficulties:

My daughter had these EXACT symptoms FOR MONTHS last year. My husband and I
felt like we were in hell. It got so bad that she would only sleep in my
arms, and still woke up every hour in pain.

THE COW'S MILK NEEDS TO GO!

Cow's milk is the most common offender in cases like these. Furhtermore, if
it is very severe ( and it sounds as if it is) the mom needs to keep all
casein, whey, or anything else that will have a whole cow's milk protein in
it out of her diet.

If she decides to go to formula, chances are that the only sort that she
will be able to use will be the VERY expensive hypo-allergenic brands.

If she decides to keep up with the bf, someone who is a IBCLC and also a
registered dietician can help her make the necessary changes.
Good luck!
Anne
