Judy,  This particular rice (rice with the human genes for lactoferrin and
lysozyme) was grown  in open fields in the USA.  The company Ventria Bioscience
that is developing these products is managed by the President and CEO, Scott
E. Deeter.  The background of this management team is of some interest with
some of the team having worked with Monsanto and Calgene, Cargill, Alcon (Nestle
company--eyecare).  The Board of Directors is also interesting with the
Chairman of the Board having been the chairman, president, CEO of Pioneer Hi-Bred
International (Thomas Urban).  Another board member was co-founder of
Chiron.(William J. Rutter)  They have what they call a scientific network which "acts as
a source of product and technology innovation."  Of interest to this list
would be  the following members of that network: Dr. Alan Greene, author,
pediatrician and media personality; Dr. Bo Lonnerdal, human milk researcher;  Dr. Ray
Rodriquez who worked in lab of Herbert Boyer as a NIH postdoctoral Fellow,
