Hello again,
I would like advice on medications for recurring yeast infections. The
mother has tried several courses of canestan. She is nursing an 18 month
old 4 to 6 times in 24 hours. She has tried cutting down on sugar and
bread etc. but says that over the last several weeks, everytime she
finish the medication, she has another yeast infection within days. She
is very uncomfortable and is looking for something "stronger" or systemic
to cure the problem. She knows that flagyl (sorry, I don't know the
generic name) is not recommended while breastfeeding. Can somebody
recommend some anti-fungal medications that are considered compatible
with breastfeeding? Thank you once again.
