Dear Susan, I think this would be logical. Are we allowed to be
logical?
BUT it is not normal! Normal would be a mom who eats or drinks to her
needs during labor. These babies have at least 1 wet in first 24 hours.

I was really interested in this comment. Can I have some more
information about the relation between output / weight loss and course
of labour? Do women with more traumatic labours and interventions (who
probably do not receive adequate food and drink) have babies who,
independent of being sleepy and not nursing well because of epidurals,
also have low output because of their mother's nutritional status? When
women labour at home, and drink to thirst, do their babies have higher
output? This is really interesting, and something we need to consider
when we talk about normal counts.
