Kathy,

If you lived in Jackson, MS I would be convinced that this was the same
mother who contacted me 2 or 3 weeks ago.

The mother with whom I spoke, was having thyroid problems, and called to
ask if this could be because she still had milk.
My reply was that she probably still had milk for the same reaso she was
having thyroid problems, and referred her to a local MD,IBCLC.

So, while I don't know of a support group in existance, I bet if this
mom started and published an on-line group, she would easily find
members. And, if the milk production is OK with her you might educate
her about Human Milk Banking and the need for donated milk.

Question:It is my understanding that prolactin is produced in the
pituitary gland...correct?
How is one "tested" for a tumor there?
Are blood levels enough or is a CTscan necessary?
The mother who called me had her thyroid scanned..how can pituitary
function be determined from thyroid examination?
