I have not had the chance to discuss it with my colleague list admin folks.
However, I agree with Barbara's idea that we can mention names of products
judiciously, and I believe that the welcome note states this:

"AVOID INJUDICIOUS MENTION OF BRAND NAMES: Please refrain from the
injudicious use of brand names. In most cases, a generic term, such as
cylinder pump, bottle liner, rubber/silicone teat or pacifier/dummy,
semi-electric breast pump, fully automatic intermittent electric breast
pump, etc. will suffice to get your point across. If you wish to discuss or
obtain specific information about particular products, please USE PRIVATE
EMAIL.

The key word here is INJUDICIOUS. It means that your remarks about a
product are your own feelings from your professional experince. It means
that you can use good judgement in discussing products, not advertising
them on this list, but using this forum to discuss products as a part of
professional practice. Your comments are also your problem if you do use
lack of judgement when discussing projects. Please refer to the entire
welcome message for some examples, etc, and let me know if this needs
clarification.

Products have a place in our professional discussions, but not as slander,
advertising, etc. And, if there is a problem, remember, that these are your
own opinions, and if you make disparaging remarks about products without
thinking first before you post, the opinions are yours, and so are the
repercussions, legally.

I take no responsibility for any comments made on this forum. I am a
volunteer who makes the computer part work, and who has some knowledge of
the subject. My administrative volunteers also have no liability where
comments are concerned, except for their own.

So, that's where I stand. Please let's not do the M&*D or the A*&%nt. I
think we are above that approach.

desk?)?...do a
