Dear Fellow Lactnetters,

I have just started as the coordinator of a new lactation program at our
local hospital. This has been a dream of mine since 1986 when I first
certified. There is so much to learn about policies and politics and who does what,
when and how. I would like to develop an assessment tool that will cover
prenatal issues, intrapartum events and immediate postpartum feeding behaviors
and concerns.

The assessment tool I used for home lactation visits has a lot of the data I
feel I need to know, but isn't really complete enough for the in-patient
evaluation. Plus the format will probably not lend itself to being put online,
as we go to online patient charting the middle of next month. Do any of you
have copies of assessment tools that you use in your facility that you would
be willing to share and e-mail to me? I would be grateful for any assistance
you experienced in-patient LC's can offer. If any of you are going to the
"Breastfeeding in the Baystate" Conference in Waltham, MA, could you bring
them with you? Perhaps we can dialogue about what worked for you as you started
out in your respective hospitals.

Please send e-mail to me privately at [log in to unmask]
(mailto:[log in to unmask]) so as not to clog up the list. Thank you in advance.
