Liz,

While I wouldn't advise looking for zebras when there's only horses, I
would advise that your client having had traumatic blood loss has a
chance of Sheehan's syndrome which adversely affects the pituitary and
thus the milk supply. I encountered a mom who had an emergency c-section
with traumatic blood loss and couldn't figure out why she was unable to
produce a full supply of milk. Baby was healthy but not growing. Once
she was diagnosed it relieved a great deal of guilt and she benefited
from drug therapy. It's something to keep in mind if she is doing all
she can to produce and not having a full supply.
