Alice,
Asherman's syndrome is the formation of multiple intrauterine adhesions
after surgery or a severe infection.  Surgery is more likely to result
in Asherman's if the woman has an untreated infection before surgery.
 Treatment consists of surgery to remove the adhesions, and the
placement of a balloon to hold the uterine walls away from each other
for a few days while healing occurs.  Some physicians give estrogen
therapy post operatively as well.  If there is an infection, antibiotic
treament is necessary.

The only part of the treatment that might impact this mom's
breastfeeding is the estrogen, and that's optional.  I don't think
there's a rush to treat the Asherman's syndrome anyway, unless she wants
to get pregnant again right away!
