Regarding Lesley Burney's thought on the love bucket, I was able to share a
special object lesson with several of my older children when a new baby was
expected. I would take a candle and light it and show the child that the
flame was my love for them. Then I would take another candle and light it
from the first candle and tell them that the new flame was the love that I
have for the new baby. Then we would look at the old flame and marvel that
it's light had not diminished and that the new flame added even more
brightness with the combined light. It was a fun analogy, and I think that
my children always enjoyed it, but of course, we were very careful with
the fire!!! I wish that I could claim credit for the original idea,
however, I read it somewhere and found it so sweet that I used it.
Thanks for sharing all your great information, it always makes my day!!!
