These machines should *not* be used for testing newborns for hypoglycaemia.
This point was strongly emphasised by the panel of UK hypoglycaemia
specialists at the Conference I went to in London more than a year ago.

here's something to keep an eye out for - look what happens if you squeeze the
baby's heel when collecting a sample for the reagent strips.
