Dear LactFriends:
I seem to remember Elizabeth Horrmann (named spelled correctly? Big apology if not!)speaking at a conference about breastfeeding the adopted baby. In most parts of the world, it is assumed women will have enough milk. She hasn't seen the issues with supply in those cases that she has seen in the US and western world.
I wonder if all our cultural negative attitudes have such a dampening effect on the master gland, i.e. the brain, that a lowered milk expectation becomes accepted, at least in much of the literature.
  Warmly,

Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CCE
