I find many problems w/this article:

*"Although formulas need not exactly duplicate the composition of human
milk, they must meet the nutritional requirements set forth by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA)." Exactly duplicate? Should read-"not
possible to duplicate." And I bet the formula companies are still reeling
from the Institutes of Medicines' new requirements that they must now meet!

*Sociologic Factors: "This makes it almost impossible to breastfeed with
any regularity." I work w/employed breastfeeding mothers and they DO find
time to 'regularly breastfeed' their babies. It is called morning, evening
and all weekend long.

*Blebs: " The blisters usually are evident for several days to several
weeks and generally heal if further irritation is eliminated." Obviously
the irritation is breastfeeding! I didn't realize that the lack of
irritation causes blebs to heal...must of missed that fact in all my
reading.

*Recurrent mastitis: " Mastitis may develop when the infant falls asleep
while nursing." OH my GOSH...well, most mothers must deal w/recurrent
mastitis..how unfortunate.

*Lupus is a contraindicated to breastfeeding? Since when? Never heard that
before...guess I learned my something new today!

*Diagnostic Radioactive Procedures are not necessarily contraindicated,
check Hale for information on the specific Isotope. Too bad pharmacists are
not aware of Medications in Mother's Milk.

*Cleft Palate: "for breast milk to be expressed without the use of a
cumbersome breast pump." Yes, lets start formula, it is so much better for
a baby w/numerous surgeries in their future.

and so on. I would suggest that all of you that can spare 20 minutes read
this hogwash.
